grounded

what’s the price of information?
but the cost of what we once knew.
mind rivers run from source to sea
water un-retained in the force
of the current.
only the drips drunk by the ground
will remain.
clever little roots.
our knowledge stampedes us,
leaving all we know and had
come to know lifeless beneath.
is information worth
the loss?
remember the ground.
she holds on to the wisdom
she harvested.
hidden and guarded.
don’t become too saturated
to dismiss any rolling runnel.
don’t become too dry
and desperately invite any drop.
information can roll on by
sometimes.
it’s not worth
the price of wisdom.
you can’t hold it all.
