WHY?
truth surrounds us. we were created to seek after it. this is just a little corner of the world where i am digging for truth. like a root sometimes it's hidden under the most beautiful of creatures.
the shadows are long, the ground: messy, but the treasure is beautiful.
dig with me.
grow with me.
there's a forest 'neath the forest.

if there is one thing you should know about me it is that all truth i seek is sourced from the revealed truth of our Creator in the precious word he has given us.

from this anchor i delight in chasing the glimmers of beauty this pre-world is riddled with. i say "pre-world" because this is all just a foretaste. everything God has done and will do are simply precursors to his ultimate restoration project. a journey begun in a garden, initiated on bloody mountain, and culminating in a new heaven and earth.

art is a way i connect with this story. i started "the reaching root" as a way to accomplish the third nugget of wisdom mary oliver shared in her "instructions on living a life."
which are, as follows:
"pay attention.
be astonished.
tell about it.”
these poems are simply the overflow of a soul that is eagerly seeking to be ever attentive. and a soul that erupts in wonder at what it sees.
so here i am to tell you about it.
i hope it leads you to live your own perceptive, pondering, proclaiming life.
