thin hope

crawling or dancing, i come.

stumbling into a love,

too wild to know.

though my threadbare heart grows

thin from hope.

waiting to see

His eyes welcome me,

into a joy indefinitely

too good to dare.

for now i’ll wait with joy

and fight to rejoice

in what is given.

in the same wild love,

though dimmed from

fallen eyes.

hope is not my end,

so i’ll wear her thin

while i can.
